Intended for those needing to read and contribute content to a
SharePoint site, this half-day hands-on course will present the
essentials needed to effectively use the SharePoint Services 3.0
collaboration platform. Beginning with a discussion of the SharePoint
family and typical working scenarios, we will cover navigation through a
site hierarchy, site templates, use of standard web parts (document and
picture libraries, tasks, contacts, calendars. blogs, wikis and more),
configuring alerts and RSS feeds, integration with the MS Office 2007
suite (esp. synchronization with Outlook 2007) and meeting workspaces.
We will also explore the robust set of document management features that
include document versioning, mandatory checkout/in and custom metadata.
Prerequisite: Familiarity with Office 2007 (preferred) or Office 2003
