Publisher 2007: Creating Catalogs and Directories

Publisher 2007 features templates that you can use to create a short catalog. If you are interested in creating a longer catalog, you can use a feature called catalog merge. You can use a catalog merge to also create directories, photo albums, or any other type of publication that displays one or more items on each page. In this two-hour workshop we’ll take advantage of the Catalog Merge task pane to guide us through the catalog merge process step-by-step. We’ll learn how to save the catalog merge as a new publication, and how to add it to the end of an existing publication.

New Features in Publisher 2007

Microsoft Publisher 2007 is the business publishing program that helps you create, design, and publish professional-looking marketing and communication materials. Publisher 2007 has been redesigned to make it even easier to quickly start or open publications. We’ll look at how to create your own publications with templates, customize templates as needed, and then change from one type of publication to another by a single click of a button. We’ll also see how Publisher will let you create and store content such as logos, maps, and pictures that can be inserted and re-used into publications later on. We’ll talk about the add-in that allows you to save your Publisher file as a PDF and the addition of a Pantone color tab to make it easier to work with commercial printers when matching colors.
