Introduction to EndNote X3

EndNote is the industry standard for organizing references and creating bibliographies. With this program you can capture resource information into libraries. Create and manage EndNote libraries, insert citations into a Word document (as well as into Apple Pages 09 and OpenOffice.org Writer 3) using a feature called "Cite while you Write"™, and automatically format a bibliography with the capability of using many different styles (Annotated, APA, MLA, and with the new X3 version, 3900+ online connection files, 700+ import filters and 3,700 journal styles).

In this 2.5 hour workshop we will learn how to connect to a variety of library databases (from PubMed to the extensive UI library resources) to copy citation information into EndNote libraries using direct transfer, as well as creating export files from online databases and importing into EndNote. We will also explore new features of version X3, including how to use the Smart Group feature, work with EndNote Web, and much more.
